In the period from October 31 to November 1, 2022, the First Meeting of the Coordination Group on Hydrology of the Countries of the Regional Association II (Asia) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) was held in Vientiane, Lao Democratic Republic. And also on November 1-3, 2022, within the framework of the meeting, a seminar was held on the topic of the introduction of the HydroSOS system in the countries of the Asian region, including the Central Asia sub-region.
On behalf of Kazakhstan, Deputy Director General of RSE "Kazhydromet", Adviser on Hydrology of the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the WMO Serik Sairov participated in the events.
The HydroSOS system is a global monitoring system for assessing and predicting the hydrological conditions of water bodies. HydroSOS builds on existing and planned WMO initiatives regarding hydrological monitoring, data exchange and meteorological forecasting. HydroSOS as a whole is aimed at creating a unique operational system that provides up-to-date hydrological information for hydrometeorological services and the population.
