On December 5-7, 2022, the Meteorological Administration of China is holding the seventh International Seminar on Meteorological Science and Technology in Central Asia. Participants: Assistant Secretary General of WMO, Doctor of Sciences Wenjian Zhang and heads of Hydrometeorological services of China and Central Asian countries.
The International Seminar on Meteorological Science and Technology in Central Asia is being held for the seventh time, and has become another traditional platform for joint capacity-building in the field of prevention and mitigation of natural hydrometeorological disasters, as well as response to climate change in Central Asia.
The purpose of the annual seminars is to strengthen communication between experts in the region, as well as to provide scientific and technical support in the prevention of meteorological disasters and mitigation of their consequences, as well as in responding to climate change in the region.
Specialists of RSE "Kazhydromet", representing Kazakhstan at the seminar, made a report on the work of the country's hydrometeorological service in responding to climate change, and also expressed confidence that the results of the seminar will be useful not only to the countries of Central Asia, but also to the world community.
