On December 7-8, 2022, the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Kazakhstan and Nazarbayev University, is holding an annual educational conference "Climate Talks".
The purpose of this conference is to widely inform and disseminate the results of the international negotiations reached at the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the consequences of global climate change and measures taken in the world and the country, mechanisms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change, as well as the results obtained during implementation of the UNDP climate project portfolio.
The event is attended by representatives of interested ministries, non-governmental organizations, youth initiatives, academic community and international and national experts.
On the second day of the conference, the director of the research center of RSE "Kazhydromet" Nurlan Abayev and the head of the Climate Research Department Svetlana Dolgikh made a report "Climatic weather phenomena".
