In the first decade of December in the south and south-east of the republic in the areas of winter crops cultivation, the temperature background was below normal, precipitation fell mostly less than normal.
Lowering the air temperature at night to minus 15 ...24C, in some places 25 ...26C (Almaty region), in the absence of snow cover in some areas can lead to freezing of winter crops in the south and south–east of the country. The decrease in the average daily air temperature led everywhere to the cessation of winter wheat vegetation in the observed areas.
The minimum soil temperature at the depth of the tillering node of winter wheat mainly ranged from 0C to minus 3C.
In the West Kazakhstan region, there is no stable snow cover in the areas of winter grain crops cultivation, so the low temperature on the soil surface (minus 22 ...24C) is dangerous for overwintering.
In general, such meteorological conditions were satisfactory for overwintering winter crops in the south and southeast and unfavorable in the west of the country.
Fog, frosts, snowstorms, and frost were observed on the territory of pasture animal husbandry. Cattle grazing was carried out everywhere.
Pastures were poorly and moderately grazed. Pasture lands in the Zhambyl district of Almaty region, the Vaktogai district of Karaganda region, and the Akzhaiksky district of West Kazakhstan region have been severely strained.
The condition of the sod is mostly frozen and damp.
