Published 05.01.2023 Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Burlibayev Malik Zholdasovich passed away at the age of 65.
Burlibayev M.Zh. worked in the Kazhydromet system since 1996, first as a senior researcher, then head of the laboratory, scientific secretary, deputy. Director and General Director of the Republican State Enterprise "Kazakh Research Institute of Ecology and Climate" of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Burlibayev M.Zh. has prepared twelve candidates and one Doctor of Sciences. The main research areas are problems of hydroecology, water balances of river catchments, hydrochemistry, scientific support of rational use of water resources, modeling of surface water dynamics and sustainable development of aquatic ecosystems. He has over 250 published scientific papers, including 39 scientific monographs. He was awarded the gold medal of the VDNH of the USSR for the development of methodological guidelines for the scientific justification of the ecological flow of rivers below reservoirs and large hydraulic structures. In 2003 and 2011 . By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was awarded the medals "Eren enbegi ushin" and "20 years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan". He was awarded the medals of the MOE RK "20 years of the MOE RK", the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Kazakhstan Republikasyn gylymyn damytuga sinirgen enbegi ushin". Awarded with badges: MOE RK "Ecology salasyn uzdigi", MAGPR RK "Kazakhstan Republikasyn su sharuashylygy salasyn uzdigi", MAGPR RK "Kazakhstan Republikasyn hydrometeorology kazmetin uzdigi". In 2014 By the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Order "Y. Altynsarina" for the training of scientific personnel for the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2017, at the 13th summit of Heads of State, he was awarded the gold medal and the ECO AWARD 2017 of the countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization for his outstanding contribution to the science of water resources protection.
