Published 13.03.2023 March 13, 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the birth of a very talented person, a highly qualified specialist, a leading climatologist, a scientist in the field of climate change research, vulnerability assessment and development of adaptation measures for climate–dependent sectors of the economy to climate change, Candidate of Geographical Sciences - Svetlana Dolgikh.
In 1985 Svetlana Anatolyevna successfully graduated from the Geographical Faculty of the Department of Meteorology of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now KazNU. al-Farabi) majored in meteorological engineering and distribution of KazGU in the same year began her career at the Kazakh Research Hydrometeorological Institute (later the Kazakh Research Institute for Environmental and Climate Monitoring, and then the Kazakh Research Institute of Ecology and Climate) held positions from engineer of the Department of long-term weather forecasts to a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Climate, Meteorology and Ozone Problems. Since 2004, she has worked as a Scientific Secretary of KazNIIEK.
In March 2005, Svetlana Anatolyevna joined the RSE "Kazhydromet" and was appointed head of the Department of Applied Meteorological Research. Currently, S.A. Dolgikh is the head of the Climate Research Department of the research center of RSE "Kazhydromet".
