Final training on drought forecasting

On March 27, 2023, the final training on the creation of a response system based on monitoring and forecasting of droughts was held in Almaty. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a group of experts, as well as agrometeorology specialists and heads of regional branches of RSE "Kazhydromet".
The training was organized by the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction in the framework of the UNDP project to develop skills in monitoring, forecasting, mitigation and response to droughts in the Republic of Kazakhstan at the national and local levels, based on the best experience and practice.
The participants of the training noted that the implementation of this project will create a modern system for forecasting droughts and improve the quality of forecasts.
