In the northern regions, records for temperature maxima were updated, for example, on April 5 at the Astana meteorological station the temperature rose to +19.2 °C (the previous record was +17.2 °C in 2022), on April 6 at the Arkalyk weather station (Kostanay region) +22.1 °C was recorded, the absolute maximum was blocked +17.9°C in 2013, at the Petropavlovsk weather station (North Kazakhstan region), the temperature record was +18.6 °C, when in 1995 it was +15.8 °C on this day, etc. Only in the south-east, east and north-east of Kazakhstan, the air temperature was about and below normal by 1-2 ° C, in the south-eastern regions frosts of up to 1-15 ° C were observed.
In the second decade of the month, after a significant and prolonged heat, winter returned to Kazakhstan. With the influx of cold and wet Arctic air masses, heavy precipitation took place in most of the republic, snowfall with a blizzard was observed in the northern regions, two monthly precipitation norms fell in two days, for example, in the Akmola region, 35 mm fell at the Atbasar weather station on April 14-15, with a norm for a month of 18 mm, at the Zhaltyr weather station on April 14-15 - 40.5 mm, with a norm of 21 mm, in the Pavlodar region it fell on April 14-15 at the Koktobe weather station 26 mm, with a norm of 15 mm, at the Ekibastuz weather station 23 mm, with a norm of 15 mm, at the Pavlodar weather station - 23 mm, with a norm of 17 mm. In the Aktobe region, heavy precipitation also took place in most of the region, there was a transition of rain to snow (for example, a heavy rain of 26 mm fell at the Uil weather station on April 14, with a norm of 25 mm per month). Then, with the invasion of the north-western anticyclone, a sharp decrease in the temperature background occurred throughout Kazakhstan, in the north of the republic the air temperature dropped at night to - 10-21 ° C (on April 16 at the Stepnogorsk weather station it was -20.8 ° C), in some areas of the north, northeast and east of the country, records for temperature minimums were updated for April, for example, on April 16, the record of 1937 (-12.5 °C) was updated at the Atbasar weather station (Akmola region), it was -14.2 °C, at the Pavlodar weather station (Pavlodar region) -11.6 °C (it was -9.6 °C in 2021), at the Ust-Kamenogorsk weather station (East Kazakhstan region) -9.0 ° C (it was -5.2 °C in 2003). And in the south of Kazakhstan, the air temperature dropped to 0,-7 ° C, in mountainous areas to -8-12 ° C.
In the third decade of April, the real spring finally came to the territory of Kazakhstan. With the removal of tropical air masses and the predominant influence of the anticyclone, warm and clear days began in most of the territory of the republic, the thermometer columns rose again to record high values for this period:
in the west and south of the country to +25+35 °C; in the north, east and center up to +25+30 °C.
In the capital, the lowest air temperature was recorded on April 16 and amounted to -12.6 °C, the highest air temperature was recorded on April 28 and amounted to +27.5 °C, thus the 2020 record was updated, which was +27.2 °C. Two more temperature records were also recorded: on April 4 - +18.0 ° C (the 2020 record was updated, which was +16.9 ° C) and on April 5 +19.2 ° C (the 2022 record was updated – +17.2 ° C). Precipitation fell more than normal - 51 mm, while the norm for the month is 22 mm. During the period of April 14-17, most of the precipitation for the month fell, so on April 14 it rained 6.1 mm, on April 15-17 there was a snowfall of 38.3 mm.
