Published 17.05.2023 Satisfactory conditions for the growth and development of winter wheat were observed in the south and south-east of the republic. Night frosts up to minus 8C, especially in the Almaty region, can affect the development of plants.
At the observed sites in Almaty, Zhetysu, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, the condition of winter wheat is excellent and good, the phase of development "exit into the tube" is "earing".
Sowing of spring grain crops was completed in the southern regions of the republic, except for Almaty and Zhetysu regions, where field work continues.
In the Zhetysu region, the "3rd leaf" development phase is marked on spring wheat crops - "tillering", the condition of the plants is excellent and good. Spring barley has a phase of "grain germination" – "3rd leaf", the condition of the plants is good.
In Almaty, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, spring barley is in the phase of "grain germination" - "tillering", in some areas of the Turkestan region – "earing".
In the northern half of the country, spring field work, harrowing of fumes and chills have begun everywhere.
In Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan and Ulytau regions, soil preparation and sowing of spring grain crops are continuing, the first shoots appeared on early crops.
The sowing of heat-loving crops (corn for grain, rice, sugar beet, soybeans, cotton, onions) continues, the first shoots appeared in the early stages of sowing. The condition of the plants and the quality of field work is good.
In the East Kazakhstan, Abai, West Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, sunflower seeds have begun to be sown. The first shoots appeared on early crops, the condition is good.
In Almaty and Karaganda regions, soil cultivation and potato planting have begun in the observed areas, the quality of field work is good.
In orchards with fruit crops (pear, apple) in the south and south-east of the country, the phase of development "appearance of inflorescences" – "fruit formation" is mainly noted, the condition of the crops is excellent and good.
In the southern regions of the republic, the "appearance of the lower node of the straw" – "flowering" is observed everywhere on the crops of perennial grasses (alfalfa, clover), and "stem growth" is observed in esparcet grasses. The condition of the herbs is good and satisfactory.
In the northern regions, the vegetation of the grasses of the granary continues. The condition of the granary is mostly good and satisfactory, in some areas of the Pavlodar region it is poor.
Cattle grazing was carried out everywhere on pastures. In the Kyzylkoginsky district of Atyrau region and Karatal district of Zhetysu region, feeding of livestock continues.
The breeding campaign, shearing and preventive bathing of sheep continues.
Pastures were poorly and moderately grazed. The condition of the grass on the pastures was generally good and satisfactory, on some pastures excellent.
The condition of the sod is mostly dry, raw sod was observed in the Aitekebi and Bayganinsky districts of the Aktobe region.
The reserves of productive moisture in the meter layer of soil have developed in the East Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Zhambyl, Turkestan, Zhetysu and Abai regions are optimal, in Almaty, Pavlodar and Karaganda regions from satisfactory to insufficient, in the rest of the country satisfactory soil moisture conditions.
