Published 01.06.2023 On June 01, 2023, an online meeting was held between representatives of Hydrometeorological Services of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The event was held within the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
The topic of the meeting is the exchange of experience in assessing the potential of using wind energy in the Caspian Sea. Representatives of both services made a report. The Azerbaijani side presented reports on the topics "Use of wind energy in the Caspian Sea", "Monitoring of work carried out in the Caspian Sea" and "The impact of climate change on the flow of the Kura River".
In turn, the employees of RSE "Kazhydromet" told about their activities in the field of hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea. They shared their studies of wind waves in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea based on numerical modeling and made a report – "Climate change and ice regime of the Caspian region of the Kazakh sector".
