On June 19-21, 2023, a Regional review workshop on prevention, Minimization and Elimination of losses and Damage associated with the Adverse Effects of Climate Change is being held in Bangkok, Thailand within the framework of the Santiago–Asia-Pacific Network (UNFCCC).
The participants of the seminars are specialists who have experience in forecasting and preventing natural disasters. Kazakhstan was presented by the leading engineer of the Hydrometeorological Center of RSE "Kazhydromet" - Makpal Botaeva.
The seminar is aimed at identifying and determining the level of experience of the participating countries in overcoming the main consequences of climate change, as well as specific needs for technical assistance at different stages of eliminating losses and damage caused by the elements.
The organizers get acquainted in detail with the warning system, the work of the observation network, the technical equipment and scientific potential of the National Hydrometeorological Services of the participating countries of the seminar. And based on the results, the needs of developing countries for technical and theoretical assistance will be determined.
