In the first decade and in the first half of the third decade of August, with the establishment of an anticyclonic type of weather, hot weather up to +34+43 °C was observed in most of Kazakhstan. These days, records of maximum air temperatures were observed in some regions of the republic. For example, on August 2 in the capital, the air temperature rose to +34.3 ° C, thereby updating the record of 2021 (+33.2 °C), on August 5 in Aktau, the air temperature reached +41.5 ° C, the record of 2015 was blocked (+40.2 ° C), and in Almaty it was recorded +38.5 °C, which became a record for this day, the last time the absolute maximum was recorded in 2015 and amounted to +37.1 ° C.
In August, records were also set for the amount of precipitation. For example, on August 10, 54 mm fell in Karaganda per day, with a norm of 29 mm per month, on August 11, 12, 28 in mountainous and foothill areas of the Almaty region, precipitation passed, sometimes strong 15-47 mm (on August 12, 26 mm fell in Almaty, with a norm of 34 mm, on August 14 at the weather station Mynzhilki heavy snow up to 7 mm), on August 27, 31, heavy rains of 15-24 mm were observed in the Turkestan region (on August 27, 28 mm fell in Shymkent, with a norm of 4 mm for the month). During the month, the wind often increased with gusts up to 15-32 m/s, on August 31 at the Dostyk weather station (Zhetisu region) the wind reached 45 m/s.
In Astana, the lowest air temperature was recorded on August 14 and amounted to +8.7 °C, and the highest air temperature was recorded on August 23 and amounted to +35.4 °C. 27 mm fell during the month, while the norm for the month was 31 mm (87% of the norm).
