Published 15.09.2023 In the first decade of September, heavy precipitation was still observed in most of the territory of the main grain-growing zone of Kazakhstan. Precipitation in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Akmola and Pavlodar regions made it difficult to carry out harvesting operations.
In the northern half of the republic, the "full ripeness" phase of development was mainly observed on grain crops. The condition of the crops is generally good in some areas satisfactory.
Harvesting of spring grain crops has been completed in the southern regions, only in the Kegen and Rayymbek districts of Almaty region and in the Kerbulak district of Zhetysu region, harvesting continues.
The condition of heat-loving crops (corn for grain, rice, sugar beet, soybeans, cotton) is excellent and good. In the Makhtaaral and Zhetysai districts of Turkestan region, cotton crops have been treated with chemical preparations (desiccation) to accelerate maturation.
At the observed sites in West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Abai and East Kazakhstan regions, sunflower has a phase of "flowering" and "harvest ripeness". The condition of sunflower is mostly good, in some places excellent, in some areas in West Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Pavlodar regions satisfactory.
In Almaty, Abai, Zhetysu, Aktobe, Karaganda and North Kazakhstan regions, the "withering of the tops" phase is observed in potato plantings, harvesting has begun in some areas. The condition of the plants is excellent and good.
In orchards with fruit crops (apple, pear) in the south and south-east of the country, mainly the phase of development "formation" – "fruit ripening" is observed, the mass harvest of apple trees continues. The condition of the crops is mostly good.
In the areas of pastoral livestock grazing was carried out everywhere. Harvesting, hauling and stacking of herbs continues, sheep shearing is carried out in Kurmangazinsky and Kyzylkoginsky districts of Atyrau region.
The condition of the grass on the pastures is mostly good, in some satisfactory. The excellent condition of the herbage was noted in the Balkhash district (Aul station No. 4) of the Almaty region, in the Akzhar (Talshyk station) district of the North Kazakhstan region.
Pastures are poorly grazed, in some areas moderately grazed. Pastures in Irgiz and Kobdinsky districts of Aktobe region, in Moyinkum and Shuisky districts of Zhambyl region, in Shetsky district of Karaganda region are not grazed, they are strongly grazed in Zhambyl district of Almaty region and in Akzhaiksky district of West Kazakhstan region.
On a larger area of pasture cattle breeding, a dry state of sod was noted, on some pastures of the west and north, raw sod was noted.
