From October 3 to 5, 2023, the World Meteorological Technology Exhibition - Meteorological Technology World Expo 2023 was held at the Palexpo exhibition complex, Geneva, Switzerland. The global event attracted more than 145 exhibitors and thousands of participants from more than 100 countries.
The World Exhibition of Meteorological Technologies is the world's largest exposition of suppliers and manufacturers of technologies and services in the field of meteorological, hydrometeorological and meteorological-oceanological monitoring. The event attracts users from national meteorological services, environmental agencies and research institutes. A technology forum was also held within the framework of the exhibition, where researchers in the field of meteorological sciences and developers of new technologies spoke.
Within the framework of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) project "Climate risk management in Central Asia", the exhibition was also visited by specialists of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan headed by Director General Danara Alimbayeva. This is a good opportunity to study the market of relevant products for the hydrometeorological industry and ask questions directly to global manufacturers.
The most effective solutions will be taken into account when implementing the Development Program of the National Hydrometeorological Service, which is currently being developed.
"Such platforms are very useful not only for effective planning of equipping hydrometeorological services, but also significantly expand the horizons of specialists, allow them to learn about technological innovations for weather monitoring and operational forecasting" - Danara Alimbayeva.
