Representatives of the German Institute of Agricultural Development visited Kazhydromet

On January 16, 2024, Dr. Daniel Muller, Head of the Land Systems Group (LSG) and Atabek Umirbekov, a doctoral researcher at LSG, met with the leadership of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the meeting was to present German scientists and explore potential opportunities for cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
IAMO is a well-known research institution dedicated to solving the problems of agricultural development in countries with economies in transition. The Land Systems Group is an integral part of IAMO and specializes in the application of geospatial methodologies to gain knowledge about complex ecological systems.
Kazhydromet specialists noted the importance and necessity of such studies and, in turn, shared their best practices in the field of forecasting for the agricultural sector of our country, demonstrated the web application for farmers Agrodata.kz and told about their achievements in the field of drought forecasting.
