Kazhydromet has updated its mobile application for monitoring atmospheric air quality in Kazakhstan - AirKZ. For new users, the app is already available on iOS and Android, and for those who have previously used it, the update will be automatic.
AirKZ monitors the quality of atmospheric air throughout Kazakhstan. Users can manually select the necessary posts, or the application will automatically determine the nearest one based on geolocation data.
The application displays the main indicators of the concentration of pollutants in the air of the selected post (depending on the configuration):
• Nitrogen dioxide (NO2);
• Nitric oxide (NO);
• Suspended particles PM10;
• Suspended particles PM2.5;
• Sulfur dioxide (SO2);
• Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S);
• Carbon monoxide (CO).
For each substance, it is possible to view the concentration level in mg/m3 and in relation to the maximum permissible concentration (Hereinafter - MPC) (on a color scale: 0-1 MPC — low level; 1-5 – elevated level; 5-10 – high level; more than 10 MPC – high – very high). Also, in the updated version of "AirKZ", a notification has now been added that notifies of a dangerous level of pollution.
In turn, Kazhydromet RSE is open to suggestions and feedback on improving the work of AirKZ.
