As of April 23, 2024, soil freezing persists in most of Kostanay, Akmola, Pavlodar regions, as well as in some areas of Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions.
In Kostanay region, freezing is observed in 3 districts of the region: in the Karabalyk district in a layer from 60-65cm to 90-95cm.
In the Akmola region, it is still preserved in Tselinograd, Shortandinsky, Birzhan Sal district and the city of Kokshetau. The freezing depth is 106-153 cm, the thawing of the upper layer is 48-81cm, in the vicinity of Novoishimka, Tselinograd district, thawing has occurred to a depth of 129cm.
In the Karaganda region, freezing persists only in the Osakarovsky district in a soil layer of 65-150 cm.
In the Pavlodar region, complete thawing of the soil is observed only at half of the observation posts.
In the Irtysh and Zhelezinsky districts, freezing reaches a depth of 115-150 cm, thawing from 62 to 129cm. In Terenkolsky and Uspenskoye, the soil remains frozen to a depth of 138-203cm, in the vicinity of Lozovaya station, freezing to 236cm, thawing from 81cm to 147-150cm.
In the center of the Sharbaktinsky district, freezing is noted in a layer from 105 to 257 cm, in the south of the district the soil has thawed.
In East Kazakhstan, freezing persists only in the Katon-Karagai district – the lower limit of freezing is 93cm, thawing is observed to a depth of 57cm.
In the rest of Kazakhstan, the soil has thawed completely.
