Regional policy dialogue on creating a clean air future in Central Asia

On June 19, 2024, Tashkent, Uzbekistan hosted the First high–level regional dialogue - "Creating a clean Air future in Central Asia". The organizers were the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the World Bank and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNE).  
The purpose of the event is to bring together politicians, decision makers and other stakeholders from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as leading experts on air quality in Central Asia and around the world.
The participants shared their knowledge and experience in the field of air quality management, policies, practices and priorities in their countries, and also considered the possibilities of regional cooperation to achieve a future with clean air in the region.
Director General of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan Danara Alimbayeva took part in the event on behalf of Kazakhstan. In her speech, she noted that Kazhydromet is ready to share its experience in the field of atmospheric air monitoring and best practices in the field of forecasting and analysis of air quality.
