Kazhydromet has issued a clarification to the drought forecast for July

In July 2024, humidification in Kazakhstan is mainly expected to be close to long-term values, but the area of territories threatened by the onset of atmospheric drought is increasing.

An atmospheric drought is expected in July:

in Kostanay region, in Amangelda, Dzhangelda districts and in Arkalyk;

in the West Kazakhstan region in Kaztalov, Zhanybek, Akzhaik and Bokey-Ordinsky districts;

in the Aktobe region in the Shalkar, Bayganinsky, Irgiz and Wilsky districts;

in the Karaganda region, in the Aktogay and Shet districts;

in the Abai region in the Ayagoz district;

in the Almaty region in the Balkhash district;

in Zhetysu region in Alakol district;

in the Zhambyl region in Moyinkum, Kordai, Zhualyn, Zhambyl, T. Ryskulovsky and Sarysu districts;

in the Turkestan region in Arys, Suzak, Kazygurt, Turkestan, Ordabasi, Otrar, Shardara, Zhetysai and Baidibek districts;

in the Kyzylorda region in the Aral, Kazalin, Karmakshi, Shiili districts and in the vicinity of Kyzylorda;

and also in the predominant territory of Atyrau, Mangystau and Ulytau regions.

Moderately humid in July is expected:

in Tayynshynsky, Ualikhanov districts and in the area of Musrepov in the North Kazakhstan region;

in the Atbasarsky, Akkolsky and Astrakhan districts and in the vicinity of Stepnogrosk in the Akmola region.

In the rest of the country, humidification conditions are expected to be close to normal for this month.
