Published 06.09.2024 On September 5-6, 2024, the annual board of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan was held, dedicated to the results of work for 2023 and eight months of 2024. The main topic of the meeting was the analysis of problematic issues and the search for ways to solve them. The Board was held in a hybrid format - branch directors participated online.
The first day of the meeting was completely devoted to the reports of the production departments, which provided information on the work done and an analysis of activities, taking into account problematic issues and decisions taken on them.
On the second day of the meeting, the participants moved on to the reports of the regional branches. The directors of 15 branches spoke about the work of the ground observation network, equipment, maintenance and repair of meteorological stations and hydrological posts.
Significant work has been done during the reporting period.
The observation network is provided with the necessary equipment and measuring instruments.
Gasification of 10 weather stations was carried out, 31 weather stations were provided with drinking water, 20 were repaired, repairs will be completed at 12 stations by the end of the year.
Repair and restoration work is underway at hydrological posts destroyed by floods this year, sites have been prepared and equipment is being purchased to open new 31-level hydraulic posts.
An interactive hydrological monitoring map has been created to inform the public.
The site also publishes a detailed weather forecast for the next 2-6 hours (science casting), forecasts of fire danger and drought.

Following the results of the board, the participants made a number of decisions on the modernization and renewal of the ground observation network, improvement of working conditions and improvement of the quality of products for the population.
