During the 35th session of the Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology of the Commonwealth of Independent States (MSG CIS), the National Hydrometeorological Services (NGMS) of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan signed an Updated Program of Cooperation.
The signed document is an agreement on activities in the field of hydrometeorological information exchange between the Republican State Enterprise Kazhydromet of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2025-2028.
The Kazakh and Tajik sides agreed to hold mutual consultations on tasks and projects in the field of problems related to climate change carried out within the framework of regional projects under the programs of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the ONN Environment Program (UNEP).
The main points of cooperation were the exchange of information on methodological approaches used in the collection, processing, analysis and assessment of the state of atmospheric air and surface waters, as well as algorithms for calculating atmospheric air and surface water quality indicators.
