In the first month of autumn, the average monthly air temperature in most of the republic was about long-term values, in the eastern half of the country it was 1-2 ° below normal, and only in the far west of the republic, in some areas, the temperature was 1-2 ° above normal.
In the first half of September, hot weather was observed in the west of the country, the thermometer rose to +29+35 °C. During this period, several new maximum temperature records were set at the Aktau Weather station (MS). For example, on September 1, the air temperature reached +35.5 °C, breaking the previous record of 2003, on September 12, a record of +34.0°C was again set at the same MS, surpassing the record of 1990, on September 16, +31.3°C was recorded, the record of 2001 was updated (+31.2 °C).
In the rest of Kazakhstan, the invasion of colder Arctic air masses was more often observed. On September 27, the air temperature dropped to -5.7 °C at MS Karaganda, updating the record of 1969 (-4.1 °C).
Precipitation in September was less than normal in most of the country. They fell more than normal in the north-east and south-east of the republic - a number of meteorological stations in these regions received record amounts of precipitation. Heavy rains were observed: on September 1, 31 mm at the MS Karauyl (Abai region) with a monthly norm of 14 mm, on September 6 at MS Zholboldy (Pavlodar region) 30 mm, with a norm of 19 mm. On September 26, precipitation fell in the mountains of the Almaty region - rain turning into sleet – 69 mm fell at the Tuyuksy automatic meteorological station (AMS), 58 mm fell on MS Mynzhilki, 52 mm fell on MS Shimbulak, almost a monthly precipitation rate of 47 mm fell on MS BAO in one day, with a norm of 44 mm.
During the month, the wind often increased to 15-25 m/s, and on August 27-28 at MS Dostyk, the wind reached a value of - 31 m/s
. In Astana in September, the lowest air temperature was recorded on September 27 -0.1°C, and the highest on September 30 +22.5°C.
The average monthly air temperature was +11.3°C, which is about normal (norm: +12.6°C). Precipitation for the month fell 36 mm, with a norm of 21 mm. On September 4, a record amount of precipitation fell 27 mm, which was 128% of the norm.
