The 8th (28th) Session of the Coordinating Committee on Hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea was held

On November 26, 2024, the 8th (28th) Session of the Coordinating Committee for Hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea (KASPCOM) was held online.
The event was attended by delegations of the National Hydrometeorological Services of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan.
CASPCOM is a unique platform for cooperation between the states of the Caspian region aimed at solving key issues in the field of environmental monitoring and climate change.

Key tasks of CASPCOM:
• Joint hydrometeorological research and monitoring in the Caspian region;
• Exchange of data and experience between national hydrometeorological services;
• Development of regional forecasts, including disaster warnings;
• Strengthening the capacity of national services in the field of hydrometeorology and ecology.
Kazhydromet RSE actively participates in the activities of CASPCOM, providing data on the state of the atmosphere, hydrological processes and climatic changes.
Joint work within the framework of CASPCOM helps the Caspian states adapt to climate change, minimize environmental risks and ensure sustainable development of the region.
As a result of the meeting, the place and time of the 9th (29th) Session of the CASPCOM were determined.
