Kazhydromet and the Swiss Embassy discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of the Blue Peace in Central Asia (BPCA) initiative

Today, within the walls of the National hydrometeorological service of Kazakhstan “Kazhydromet” a meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the Swiss Embassy in Kazakhstan and international experts of the ARSA.

During the meeting, participants discussed the relevance of the Blue Peace initiative for the activities of Kazhydromet, especially in matters of hydrological monitoring and climate research. Questions were raised about the potential for cooperation within the international SAPPHIRE project aimed at sustainable management of water resources, and key areas of mutual interest were identified.

One of the significant outcomes of the discussion was the invitation of Kazhydromet to join the technical advisory committee of the Blue Peace initiative.


This meeting was an important step in strengthening international cooperation and promoting initiatives aimed at conserving water resources and adapting to climate change.
