Published 03.02.2025 February is one of the most changeable months of the year, which is characterized by sudden changes in air temperature - frosts and thaws.
Cloudy weather with mixed precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and rain is forecast in early February under the influence of a Northwesterly cyclone, with snowstorms in the northern half of the country. Gusty winds, fogs and icy conditions are expected across the republic. Air temperature is expected to rise in most parts of the republic in the first days of February.:
- in the west and south of the country during the day up to 0,+10 °C;
- in the northern half of the republic, it reaches - 2.7°C at night, and -4+1°C during the day.
In the east and in the center of the country, the main background temperature is forecast at night in the range of -12-20 °C, during the day it will warm up to 0.8 °C.
In the second half of the first decade, a decrease in air temperature is predicted due to the influence of a cold anticyclone from the Salekhard regions in Kazakhstan:
- in the northern half of the country, up to -28-35 °C at night, up to -20-25 °C during the day;
- in the southern half at night up to -13-20 ° C, in the daytime up to -5-12 ° C, in mountainous areas and in the north of the southern regions at night up to -30 ° C, in the afternoon up to -20 ° C.
According to the advisory forecast in the second and third decades of February, frosty days will be replaced by warm ones, snowfall, fog and ice are expected. Heavy precipitation (rain, snow) is possible in the mountains of the south and south-east of the republic.
During cold incursions of the anticyclone, intense cold waves are predicted, and the air temperature will drop these days:
in the northern half and in the center of the Republic of Kazakhstan at night to -25-35 °C, in the daytime to -15-25°C.;
In the southern half and in the south-west of the republic, it reaches -12-22°C at night, and -3-15°C during the day.
And during periods of cyclonic activity, an increase in air temperature is expected.:
in the northern half of Kazakhstan, up to -5+3°C in the afternoon,
in the southern half and in the south-west of the country, up to +5+15°C in the afternoon.
