On March 6, Kazhydromet hosted a meeting with representatives of the Japanese company RIKEN KOGYO INC and Tokyo Rockbox Almaty LLP (TRA).
The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the development of technological solutions for calculating weather conditions on railway sections subject to snow drifts. The Japanese delegation, which included President Shibao Yukihiro, Department Director Teshima Satoshi and Soma Nao, shared best practices in this area. After the official part of the meeting, a tour of the hydrometeorological center was organized for the guests. Representatives of the Japanese company were shown weather forecasting technologies and methods for monitoring changes.
The meeting participants noted the importance of exchanging experience and expressed their readiness for further cooperation in providing support to combat snowstorms and other weather events affecting the railway infrastructure and highways of Kazakhstan.
