Kazhydromet RSE staff participated in the first webinar of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in meteorology, climatology, hydrology and related sciences of the Earth system. The event took place on January 22, 2026 in an online format. The webinar launched a regular series of WMO events on artificial intelligence aimed at sharing knowledge, demonstrating innovative solutions and strengthening international cooperation in the field of implementing AI technologies in the operational and scientific activities of national hydrometeorological services. During the first session, practical developments of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Canada and the Korean Meteorological Administration focused on the operational use of AI were presented. The participation of Kazhydromet specialists in this webinar contributes to the improvement of professional competence, the study of international best practices and the expansion of the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in weather forecasting, climate monitoring and processing of hydrometeorological data. The company will continue to actively cooperate with the WMO and participate in subsequent webinars in order to develop scientific and technical potential and introduce modern digital solutions in the industry.
