RSE Kazhydromet presented a preliminary forecast of the flood situation for the flood period of 2026. The forecast is based on the amount of precipitation during the cold period, the depth of soil freezing and the presence of an ice crust on the soil surface.
The forecast is preliminary and will be updated based on current weather conditions. After the rivers are opened, short-term hydrological forecasts will be published weekly to promptly inform the public and government authorities.
