Press release development of a model for predicting atmospheric air pollution

RSE "Kazhydromet" continues to develop information support for the population about the ecological state of the environment.
With the support of the Finnish meteorological Institute, Kazhydromet carried out work during 2020 and launched a predictive model of atmospheric air quality based on the SILAM (System for Integrated modeling of Atmospheric coMposition) model on September 14.
Based on the SILAM model, Kazhydromet added forecast concentrations of pollutants to the Interactive map on atmospheric air quality with 24 and 48 hours ' advance time for each observation post.
Currently, the data is available via the maps link.hydromet.kz.
In the future, we plan to introduce the SILAM model prediction in the AirKz mobile app for General information to the public and government agencies.
