Today, on the eve of the world water monitoring day, a press tour organized by the Ministry of ecology, Geology and natural resources took place in the laboratory of RSE "Kazhydromet". Specialists of the Department of environmental monitoring showed the sampling process on the Ishim river in the capital. During the press tour, the head of the environmental pollution monitoring testing laboratory, Yerbol Orazalin, explained the progress of quality analysis and monitoring in the laboratory.
The environmental pollution monitoring laboratory is accredited for 42 indicators on water bodies. In the city of Nur-Sultan, we conduct an analysis on 7 water bodies, at 20 points for compliance with the maximum permissible concentration of water. Water samples from rivers and lakes are collected and analyzed once a month. In April, the water level is checked twice as it rises. At the same time, one object is monitored 13 times a year. If any contamination is detected, we send the information to the relevant authorities. Based on the results of the analysis, we distribute a monthly Bulletin, and the information is updated on the site, " Yerbol Orazalin said in an interview with journalists.
In General, monitoring of the quality of surface and sea waters in the country is carried out at 424 points located on 143 water bodies, including 93 rivers, 31 lakes, 15 reservoirs, 3 channels and 1 sea.
"In the Republic, control is carried out on 60 indicators: suspended substances, dissolved oxygen, hydrogen index, magnesium, calcium, chlorides, sulfates, biogenic and organic substances, heavy metals, pesticides and others. Water samples are checked in 17 laboratories of 15 regional branches of RSE "Kazhydromet", all laboratories are accredited according to the international standard ISO IEC 17025, " Ye. Orazalin.
It should be noted that in 2019, on behalf of the Minister of ecology, Geology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliyev, an interactive map was developed to ensure open access to environmental information about the state of the environment and the quality of surface waters in Kazakhstan http://apps.kazhydromet.kz:3838/app_dem_water_visual/, in which you can find out what quality class a particular water body in Kazakhstan belongs to, and what indicators are exceeded.
World water monitoring day is celebrated annually on September 18, since 2003. The ecological holiday is aimed at informing people about the problems of water resources in their place of residence, on the planet, and mobilizing them to take measures to protect nature from pollution.
