Based on the recommendations of the Joint Economic Research Program conducted by the Finnish Meteorological Institute in 2013, RSE "Kazhydromet" carried out work on expanding the observation network for monitoring the ozone content in the atmospheric air of cities and settlements of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Thus, from January 1, 2021, ozone will be measured for the first time in the city of Almaty at four automatic observation posts located at the following addresses:
- Akhmetov Street, 50, aerological station (airport area);
- 14 R. Sorge Street, Turskib district police department;
- 202 Zhankozha batyr Street, Shanyrak m-n, School No. 26;
-Al-Farabi Ave., corner of Navoi Street, Orbita m-n (territory of Zelenstroy Arboretum).
In addition, observations of ozone concentration in the air will also be carried out from January 1, 2021 in the cities of Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Atyrau, Taraz, Uralsk, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Aktau, Petropavlovsk, Turkestan, Pavlodar, Aksai, Kulsary, Zhanaozen, as well as in the village of Beineu and at the Borovoe Background Monitoring Station.
Work is also underway to include ozone readings in the airkz mobile app and on the interactive map of Kazhydromet RSE.
