On the EPA (Atmospheric Protection Agency, USA) world map for air quality (https://waqi.info/ru/#/c/51.112/71.552/11.2z) online displays the actual concentrations of pollutants and the aki index, which change depending on the data update on the measuring sensors (from a few minutes to an hour).
Along with the change in the numerical values of concentrations, the rating of the level of pollution also changes, that is, as of 10 o'clock on 11.01.2021, Kazakhstan was on the 18th place in terms of air quality, then at 11 o'clock on 11.01.2021 – on the 38th place.
Thus, this rating is not analytical in nature, but a reference informative character on the actual state at a particular time and varies depending on the time of day, time of year, weather conditions and their duration. This information can be used by the population to make decisions about the possibility of walking, outdoor sports, the need to wear respirators in case of high air pollution.
RSE "Kazhydromet" reports that it is not enough to determine the level of atmospheric air pollution only by one actual concentration value at a particular time.
To determine the reliable level of air pollution in the city, constant monitoring is necessary, information is collected over a long period of time, and all the parameters determined are taken into account.
This information is indicated in the "information bulletins on the state of the environment of the Republic of Kazakhstan" on the website of RSE "Kazhydromet".
