In connection with the information published in the media about the discovery of dead fish in the Badam River in the territory of the Turkestan region, on March 10, 2021, specialists of the complex laboratory of the branch of the RSE "Kazhydromet" in the Turkestan region conducted an unscheduled visit and sampling of water at the following 3 points:
- point #1-Badam River, 0.5 km above the place of fish death;
- point #2-Badam River, the place of fish death (in the area of the Sauran recreation area, at the intersection of the Sairam-su and Badam rivers);
- point #3-Badam River, 0.5 km below the place of fish death;
Water quality analysis is carried out on 31 physical and chemical indicators, including major ions, biogenic substances, organic and inorganic substances, and heavy metals.
The water temperature of the Badam River was in the range of 11.5-13.0 ° C, the hydrogen index was 7.72-7.86, the concentration of oxygen dissolved in the water was 10.46-12.42 mg / dm3, the transparency was 11-25 cm, there was no smell peculiar to natural water, the water was turbid.
According to the results of the analysis, the norms of class 3 "good quality" of the Unified Classification of Water Quality were exceeded: for magnesium-75.6-109.2 mg/dm3 (2.5-3.6 times), for sulfates-384.2-422.6 mg/dm3 (1.1-1.2 times), for phenols – 0.002 mg/dm3 (2 times).
In general, the excess of the quality standards was recorded at points 2 and 3 "the place of fish death and below the place of fish death".
In general, water quality is characterized as "above class 5" (water is not suitable for all types of water use).
A BPC5 analysis is currently under way, the results of which will be provided later.
