According to climate data, April is the time of the decisive onset of spring throughout Kazakhstan. In April, the day quickly lengthens and the sun rises higher and higher above the horizon. There is a further accumulation of heat. A steady transition of the average daily air temperature through 0C to positive values occurs in the first decade already in the north of the republic, in the third decade the average daily temperature in these areas passes through +5C. In the south of Kazakhstan, in the first decade, the average daily air temperature passes through +10C. In some years, there may be shifts of 2-3 weeks, both in the direction of earlier and later dates.
April is characterized by an increase in precipitation compared to March. In most of the territory falls 15-30 mm, in some places in the east of Kazakhstan 50-90 mm, in the foothill and mountain zone of the south and south-east of the country 100-150 mm. In some years, the amount of precipitation can exceed long-term values by 4-5 times.
Thunderstorms are observed throughout Kazakhstan, fogs-mainly in the northern half of Kazakhstan.
According to the advisory forecast, in April 2021, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be +2+9°C in most of the republic, +10 + 16°C in Mangystau, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions, in most of West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Zhambyl, Almaty regions, in the south-west of Karaganda region.
During the month, with the release of cyclones from the south of the Caspian Sea and from the European territory of Russia, unstable weather will prevail in the west and in the northern half of the republic. Precipitation is forecast (mainly rain), mixed precipitation (rain, sleet) is still likely in the north and in the mountainous regions of the south, south-east and east of Kazakhstan. A gusty wind of 15-20 m/s is expected, on some days with gusts up to 23-28 m / s (in the west and south with dust storms), in some places thunderstorms and hail are likely in the republic.
At the beginning of the first decade in most of Kazakhstan, the weather is expected to be mostly without precipitation, only in the west and in the south-eastern part there will be precipitation (rain, snow), sometimes heavy. Since the middle of the first decade, unstable weather with precipitation, fog and ice is predicted throughout the republic. In the first decade, night and daytime air temperatures are expected to increase:
in the west at night to +2+7°C, in the afternoon to +5+15°C;
in the north, north-west, in the center and in the east in the second half of the first decade at night from -5-15°C to -2+3°C, in the afternoon to +2+10°C, in the center and in the east in places to +13°C;
in the south and south-east of the country at night from 0, -8°C to +2+10°C, during the day from +5+15°C to +10 + 23°C.
At the end of the first decade, a decrease in night temperatures is predicted in the northern half of Kazakhstan.
In the second and third decades of April, with the removal of warm air masses from the regions of Iran and Central Asia, the temperature background may increase:
in the north, center and east of the country during the day up to +15 + 25°C;
in the southern regions and in the west of the Republic of Kazakhstan up to +20 + 30°C.
However, the return of cold weather and a significant decrease in air temperature are not excluded. When cold air flows from the territory of Russia in the northern, central and eastern regions of the republic, the thermometer columns can drop at night to 0, -9°C, in the afternoon to +3+8°C, in the southern regions and in the west of the country at night to -5+7°C, in the afternoon to +10+17°C.
Note: the forecast for the month should be used as an advisory, which is subsequently adjusted as the synoptic situation changes and updated with weather forecasts for the decade.
