In April, two intense heat waves led to new temperature records: at the beginning of the second decade in the west of Kazakhstan, the daily air temperature reached + 27+32°C. For example, the Akkuduk weather station (Mangystau region) recorded a record temperature of +32.2°C for April 10. Another heat wave occurred at the end of April, when in the south, center and east of the republic the air temperature rose to +31 + 38°C, so in Kyzylorda on April 28 it was +38.1°C, which was a record for this day.
Also, on some days of April, the records of minimum air temperatures were updated, which were recorded at the beginning of the third decade in the north, center and east of Kazakhstan. For example, at the weather station Ruzaevka (North Kazakhstan region) on April 20, the air temperature was -9.9°C, as a result, the previous record of this day was updated.
In addition, in the first half of the third decade, spontaneous hydrometeorological phenomena were observed, for example, in the south and south-east of Kazakhstan, with the influence of a cold anticyclone, frosts of up to 1-5 degrees were observed on the soil surface, in the Almaty region up to 8-15 degrees (at the BAO weather station on April 24, the soil temperature dropped to 15°C).
During the month, there was a shortage of precipitation in most of the republic, but on some days there were precipitation that reached the criteria of the OHSS (Spontaneous hydrometeorological phenomenon), for example, on April 4, with the release of the Southern Cyclone, very heavy rain was observed at the Achisay weather station (Turkestan region), 33.6 mm of precipitation fell, with a duration of more than 8 hours. On April 21, heavy snow of up to 20 mm fell in the BAO region (Almaty region), with the aggravation of atmospheric fronts.
