Branch of RSE "Kazhydromet" in Atyrau region (hereinafter-the Branch).
The branch has a staff of 136 units.
The total number of observation network on the territory of Atyrau region is 19 meteorological, agrometeorological, hydrometeorological and environmental stations and posts, including:
Traditional weather stations – 9 units;
Automatic weather stations (AMS) – 10 units (8 of them at MS);
Hydrological posts – 13 units (2 of them are automatic at GP);
Agrometeorological posts – 2 units (2 of them at MS);
TDS (hard-to-Reach stations) - MS 2 units;
Aerological station – 1 unit;
Monitoring points for atmospheric air pollution – 6 PNZ units, including automatic and 2 manual ones;
Environmental laboratories – 2 units (1 of them mobile).

The main activity of the Branch is to provide environmental monitoring, meteorological, agrometeorological and hydrological monitoring using the state observation network.
Main tasks of the Branch
Ensuring and organizing the continuous production activities of the monitoring network.
Provision of hydrometeorological information, as well as information on the state of the environment, actual and expected changes in hydrometeorological conditions, the state of the climate and its changes, and the state of environmental pollution on a contractual basis to state bodies and other interested persons.
Maintaining the data collection obtained as a result of environmental monitoring, meteorological and hydrological monitoring.
The meteorological observation network conducts 8 urgent daily observations of air temperature, soil temperature, wind direction and speed, type and duration of atmospheric phenomena, type and number of clouds in points, precipitation, and atmospheric pressure monitoring.
