Жарияланды 28.03.2021 RSE "Kazhydromet" has released the next weekly hydrological forecast for the period from March 27 to April 2, 2021. The area of the territory of Kazakhstan covered with snow calculated by RSE "Kazhydromet" for the period from March 11 to 19, 2021, according to NASA satellite images, decreased from 69 % to 53%.
According to the weekly synoptic forecast for March 27 - April 2, 2021, in the first half of the period, under the influence of the North-western and Mediterranean cyclones, precipitation (rain, snow) is expected in most of the republic, in the east, south and south-east, heavy precipitation is expected in some places, and therefore, the formation of slope runoff in these regions is expected.
In the second half of the period with the invasion of the North-west anticyclone, a gradual cessation of precipitation and a short-term decrease in air temperature are expected.
Further snowmelt, weakening of ice phenomena and rising water levels in the rivers of the lowland and mountainous territories of Kazakhstan are expected.
